The first workshop “Brand on Social Media” was held in Novi Sad, gathering 30 high school students interested in digital marketing. The workshop is part of the programme “Enhancing Digital Skills for Youth in Serbia”, implemented by UNICEF with the support of the Tesla brand of Comtrade distribution, in collaboration with the OPENS Youth Centre.
The focus was on how to build a personal or professional brand on social media, how viral campaigns work, and which skills are most in demand in the job market.
“The digital world is our future. The knowledge I gained here will help me not only if I pursue marketing but in any field I choose in life,” emphasised Natalija Kundačina, a third-year student at the Mileva Marić Einstein Technical School.
The workshop was led by Marija Radosavljević, Digital Media Manager for the Tesla brand, who shared practical knowledge in digital campaigns. Participants had the opportunity to learn what working in digital marketing looks like from a professional perspective, and the Tesla team gave them insight into daily work in the tech industry.
“Digital skills are key to young people’s futures, and it’s important that companies invest their knowledge and resources into empowering them,” said Miroslava Jeremić, Marketing Director of the Tesla brand.
This project was supported by OPENS, through its activities, aims to bring the world of technology closer to young people and open doors to future professions.
“The idea behind the OPENS programme is to spark young people’s interest in science and technology as potential future careers’’, explained Dobrila Marković, Deputy Director of OPENS.
The programme’s importance is further underlined by the fact that Serbia’s job market is seeing increasing demand for digital competencies. According to the World Economic Forum’s “Future of Jobs 2025 Report”, skills in artificial intelligence, data processing, and resource and talent management will be among the most sought after.
“The workshops are designed to supplement young people’s education with skills needed in today’s job market,” said Anja Aleksić, Member of the Executive Board of Comtrade Group and UNICEF Business Board.
As part of the “Youth in the World of Technology” programme, 30 workshops will be held across Serbia, aiming to prepare young people – especially those from vulnerable groups – for a workforce shaped by technology and digitalisation.
